Two Feet and a Heart Beat
On Sunday, the Liebke Tyres team were joined by many family and friends to complete the Two Feet and a Heart Beat Charity Walk around the beautiful Queens Park and Botanical Gardens.
The walk was 2.1km of positive steps towards a cure for congenital/childhood heart disease. In recognition of the heart beginning to beat 21 days after conception, Two Feet & a Heartbeat is a 2.1 km Charity Walk on level ground, in select venues all across Australia in support of heart kids and their families affected by congenital/childhood heart disease. The event is also a tribute to Heart Angels, that we have lost to congenital/childhood heart disease but live on in our hearts, with a 21 second silence in memory of them, with families, friends and supporters invited to participate in a flower memorial. We walked in memory of our beautiful Heart Angel, Bethany Cate (17.09.01 - 14.09.11). All proceeds from the walk went towards funding world class research into the causes, treatment and management of congenital/childhood heart disease, as well as delivering high quality support services via all major Australian children’s hospitals and in the community.
Our supporters all wore our Heartkids shirts made by our good friend Stacey at Made.Clothing and proudly sponsored by awesome local businesses - Blades Joinery & Construction, John Gilbert Electrical, Southern Stars Airconditioning and the Meringandan Hotel. A big THANKYOU to you all for your support. And thank you to Peter and Sharene Blades for joining us on Sunday. If anyone would still like a shirt contact Chris or myself. We still have a range of sizes available at $20 each.
